When everything seems to go wrong....FOCUS on the things that go right!

Today was just ONE of those days.........
you know?

I was tired...and was tired all day.
It seemed like most of us were dealing with SOMETHING today.
Our days didn't go as we had planned.
The weather changed MID-traveling.
Plans kinda just went along...........and minute by minute.

So, we ended up in Paradise....
and this is what we captured today.

a lovely mother-to-be...only barely pregnant, but why does she have to wait for her pictures?  So we had fun today. :)

Seniors 2011........(and maybe even 2012) ahaha!!!

.......the weekend....

I did have a blast this weekend at the Ren Faire!  I was able to help share a glorious moment between a good friend & co-creator...Chrystine. :)  I was able to dress as a "fairy" to enjoy the good times and creativity all around me. :)  I am currently working on their images...but have a few up on my gallery at :  www.pinklightstore.com. 

Meanwhile, check out a couple of images I took for the bride....she is very very lovely and it was so cool to see all the personal touches she gave to her special day - with her daughter all "fairied" up...wings & everything...down to the details that they chose for their wedding attire.  (purchased separately, but matched perfectly!)

Making amazing out of seemingly "impossible" :)

I just got this amazing testimonial from Carlisa and had to share...this is why I do what I do! Only they and I know the struggles and intricacies that led up to her big day...and when it came - we had FUN!  No worries! No stresses!  Just plain ol celebrations! :)  Thank you Carlisa and Jason. :)

It was a great day today! I hope to share some images with you as time goes on....of my little shoot today....meanwhile...the ARTS event for Japan went really well.  I wasn't able to really donate a piece for it, but found that a lot of my friends did - and excitedly so - I saw most of them tonite.  I love my new growing family.  I love seeing everyone connect in so many ways...and how we all come together to create....love...and do something MEANINGFUL to make a difference.

I have to say today was a nice ending to my long long weekend.  I know that everyone that worked and VOLUNTEERED their time/passions for this festival - you inspire me...and I hope you get some REST after the long hours you put in.  You are precious. :)  You give me hope as an artist to be around others and learn & grow and love.

"It is time"...

You know I still haven't written about my experiences at last week's conference...but what I can tell you is the pieces I picked up....was about "REIGNING" in my domain.  We have all been given a sphere...and help accountable for that purpose we have been given here on earth.  I didn't catch it all, but those words definitely stuck with me.  What I've been given charge over, I want to embrace. :)

So, tonite a surprise came about...that had been thought out and "planned"...but really...it happened differently than we expected, BUT still...happened.

I was taken back to the moments that I saw my friend Sherry get engaged....and how I got to know ahead of time....and watch it unfold...and tonite was no exception to what we felt that same day.  Just so happy to SHARE that moment. :)

I hope to share my thoughts soon about what I have learned so far...
but for now...I'm going to finish out today...celebrating my wedding anniversary...and go help people...and then Sunday, do my photo sessions in Deep Ellum.

I love my life and what I've been given.
The doors of opportunities, I'm staying attentive to them.

Vintage surprise part 1.

I call this part 1............because this was really a last minute process.........with the accessories at hand...thanks to Sabre and her GREAT growing collection of vintage type pieces. :) I just had to photograph her!  So, up next...phase 2..........i'm very excited!

THESE!!!!!!!!! are the days.

I know one's happiness and joy shouldn't be based solely on awesome things happening....
but today has started to be a GREAT DAY.

I setup a quick shoot with Maria...and was pleased that she was ready to work when I got there.....and I had brought in a dress that fit her PERFECT. I was amazed!

I'm trying more new things...and trying to play with lighting....we didn't get to take a trip to any other locations, so her yard had to do.  :)  Seeing green grass and the sunlight...makes me HAPPY inside!  Then to top it off...with gorgeous pictures to boot?  Today has started grand. :)

I hope that you are out there right now, getting inspired to make some wonderful SPRING images this season!!!!!

Rest........

I love when I stop to rest...because it means....a great time to myself...to hear the world around me....to not be superly consumed with everything....to do my laundry...(yay!)....to have my own adventure and see a person I hadn't seen in a year....(or more)....to know that this entire day is just for me....and that I need to clean out my car...so that I can have a full day of shooting tomorrow.

I'm just glad I have this time to really sit still for a while....
I actually shouldn't even be typing...I did so much work this weekend...that my hands started tingling...which is a sign of overuse...when it happens...I have to STOP using my hands on the keyboard...but here I am... heheh! I promise I'm signing off. :)

I'm glad my camera hand is my right hand...because it seems to be stronger than my left hand. :)

Life's challenges!

I'm thankful for challenges...but sometimes the emotional roller coaster ride that I take gets me on highs and lows when working....I get so many creative highs...then can plunge into lows of questions and doubts.  That is what I do love about life though.  To pretend you have it all together, is pretty false.  I am happy to say I'm never perfect...only trying my best!  I'm excited to share a brief image with you that was captured without the bride knowing.  :)  I have come to be very sneaky in what I do....and quite a few times I'm getting these *real* images when you least expect it.  I love doing that.  I get happy when I "get it"!

Someone asked me recently....besides photography...what are your interests? 
My interests are helping people...and serving people...to help them be more than they are...to rise above all circumstances....and shine like the bright light they can be.

I give you...my lovely bride...with whom a wedding I booked 24 hours in advance.
I was nervous and would probably give myself about a 90% average on how I tackled this *test*.  I can always improve...but knowing that I did get some amazingly real and stunning images...is what matters most to me.  Because to them, it is priceless and they will look at these forever. :)

I LOVE shooting weddings!
Ok, see, I walk into so many challenges....LIGHTING challenges...but more often than not...my challenge is also working in cramped spaces!  Can you see the lovely shot I have here??? I'm so in love with this photo - because it shows what a great time I'm having.  I'm very animated and work very quickly sometimes.  Sometimes, I'm so sneaky - you are like WHAT? we are done? :) 

I'm thankful to have done quite a few weddings and failed many times, but also learn to embrace the success I get in capturing all those moments that make that day real. :)

even when I think i'm late........i'm on time.

I've had sooooooooooo many doubts over the past months....
and with good reason - because my instincts are usually in tune with how it works here on earth, v. how God works...if i had set my sights continually on how God functions, i would see that is he is always on time with what he does.

I was thinking today about how my life has come to this place...
the choices i made...the directions i took....

But today, I felt right on time.  Every word spoken today was right on time.  A really great conference coming up just lines right up with my heart in where God is taking me personally, as well as i'm sure a lot of other women around.  Like it or not, in some ways we all collaborate....we are all a part of this puzzle...

I'm just ready to sit and receive what is coming...I don't want to have any doubts that the realm i'm given is mine...and mine alone...that the path that is in front of me is mine.... :)

The words coming to me...of encouragement and empowerment....are right on time.
and I'm right on time..........

One of my Weddings...ah-hem (ELOPEMENT) featured on a blog!

I was happy to hear that one of my awesome weddings, actually ELOPEMENT made it on a blog!!!!

It was the best day I've had this week for sure!  With maybe the exception of today, in talking with my April brides....whom inspire me in so many ways creatively. :)

I look forward to being featured more as my wedding business grows and I find my place in this industry.  I have a love for it...and was looking at MY pictures the other day - still wishing I had spent the extra cash on a creative wedding photographer, but what did I know?   This was 6 years ago, and I barely knew ANYTHING about photography....and here I am....................

I look forward to more developments in 2011...as time progresses...and my giftings get more and more used!!!!

I look forward to sharing more when I can...meanwhile, herez a screen print of PART....of the blog............I couldn't get it all - and someday soon I'll show the whole thing, but for now...this is all you get! YAY

The anticipation of 2011!

I think this year just keeps getting better and better...

I'm finding some places around where I can spend my time and giftings of photography....not everything works with my calendar, but I tell you - I love it when it does! I hope to get to share something about the next 2 events I get to do...I'll probably write about them, since I might not get to use any of the pictures because of restrictions. :) All I can say is? ...I love helping others see their inner and outer beauty. So, I'm WAY excited. :)

I also woke up to see my work on a blog. I was really super happy to see that my patience is finally paying off...I am too too too excited about what is ahead for me in the wedding industry. :) I know I have a place, and it is just for me......

I launched my new name *PINK LIGHT IMAGES* on 2/1...and staying strong in the fun things that I'm planning...I'm finalizing the ART SHOW on 9.10.11 with a local gallery - and will be bringing in 30 volunteers to make this happen. I love collaborations. I can't wait to get this moving. :)

As for Valentine's Day? My sweetie hooked me up with some lovely flowers...

The bouquet he bought...was like 7 different flowers...and he knows that i love color...and i love variety! :)  I got a little of everything...just enough to enjoy their beauty...before the cat chomps on them! HAHAHA!!!!!!!!
